Gothard & Associates – Green Earth is located in Bellevue, Iowa. We acquired distribution rights for (KVAR®EC) KVAR Energy Controllers after verifying actual savings on over 80 commercial and residential projects.

Morse Electric, Westphal & Company and K&M Marshal Electric trained electricians to install and support these products. How KVAR®EC units work:
The KVAR®EC unit saves electricity by reducing the amount of power used by inductive equipment. Inductive equipment is any device using a motor to operate. All motors use more electricity than is needed to operate. Electrical engineers call it "non-productive current". That's why motors are hot to the touch....the excessive, unused current is expressed as heat.

• KVAR patented a device and methodology for determining, to an exact science, the amount of capacitance that is needed to optimize inductive motors to unity for maximum savings.
• KVAR®EC fine tunes the electrical system from the inductive equipment back through the utility company's KVA electric meter, kilowatt hour meter (kWh) or demand meter. This fine tuning slows down the operation and therefore reduces electrical consumption.
• KVAR®EC stores the reactive power to create the electromagnetic field (EMF) around the inductive windings of a motor.
• Reactive power is "pulled" and "pushed" to/from the KVAR®EC by the motor at 60 cycles/second as the motor operates.
• KVAR®EC stores and releases what the motors need to function more efficiently.
• This unique approach serves to reduce the heat generated on the lines plus reduces the strain placed on all the electrical components.
